not the critic.

Oops, missed a day...

Sunday January 18th
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.


Saturday January 17th
quotes do many different things for people. some inspire, some let us remember, some allow us to dream, some remind us we're alive, some make us laugh, some bring tears to our eyes, and some mean nothing to us other than letters and spaces on a blank page. we all have a favourite quote, too. and whether we like it or not, there will always be that quote that relates to our current mood. but why do we read quotes? to pass time? no. because we'd rather not be doing homework? well yes, but no. then why? because we all want to feel and be a part of something more than the feeling of loneliness. quotes link us together and give us something to live by.
